Playing Catch Up!

Over the next few days I plan on making posts of what we have all been up to over the last several months.  Please bear with me!

It is already August, and I am trying to figure out where the summer went. We moved from  our "temporary permanent" home in Las Vegas, Nevada, to our new hometown of Boise, Idaho, in March.  Tavis and I have really been the only two of our family to enjoy the benefits of the move as Bo has been in Colorado and after Nate finished up in Vegas he was sent to Italy (rough, right?) and is now in Azerbaijan.

I have been able to spend time with old friends, such as my best friend from junior high, Amy, and her family. She and her husband Mike live up the street and around the corner from us (literally) with their two children, Teresa who is 2, and Oliver, who was born May 23.  We are fortunate enough to be able to spend a lot of time with them, and we have plans for Tavis and Teresa to marry in about 20 years. :)

I have also made some new friends, including Jaime, whom I went all through school with in Ely but never really knew. She also lives in Boise with her husband and two kids, Sean who is 6, and Jordyn, who is 4. Tavis enjoys spending time with them, as do I.

We are only about four hours away from Elko, and have been down that way several times since arriving in Boise. We have also been able to drive down to Ely. That drive is a little longer, but well worth it. Grandma Gust is one of Tavis' favorite people.  He loves to go to her house and sleep in "his" room.

Right now we are preparing for my sister Heather to give birth to her second child. She is due September 15, but I am pretty positive she will be having him early. I think August 31 is a great day to shoot for. Just saying! We will be heading down to Elko next weekend for her baby shower.

Tavis will start preschool August 30, so we have started school shopping. It is a real drag having to head to the mall and look through all those cute clothes.....ok, maybe it's not so bad. And yes, I realize that Tavis will be upset if I don't look as great as he does, so I am shopping for myself as well!

Look for more posts and pictures in the coming week. :)  I just remembered I have some shopping to do.

New and Improved....

Welcome to our new family blog. We had started one for Tavis when he was born and we moved to Colorado, and it ended up morphing into more of a family blog. I decided to start over to share pictures and the happenings of our family. More to come soon!
